What a first topic!

Gotta start somewhere - Finding solid ground would be good.

YOU are the Determining Factor in your life.

"I feel like I'm losing it.  I can't control myself.  I'm afraid of what I'll do."

Self-control is the Only Real Power.

Just because you don't see an answer or a better way, it doesn't mean there aren't any.

In the midst of your crisis, you are in Prime Position for Transformation.

Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

This will only make you better.  The sun will rise again.  It always does.

What a first topic!

When I ordered the menu options on this site, I wasn’t planning to put this section first.  Focusing on the positive as I like to do, I thought words and topics like “freedom”, “affirmations”, even “transformation” were more appealing and would help inspire hope and a better feeling within us.  When I think of the word “crisis”, I think “Uh-uh.  Not good.  Don’t want any part of THAT.  Keep away!”  I said to myself, “That is probably not first word most people want to see.”

So why did I place it first?  To be realistic, and to offer the kind of help that is most needed.  I do realize, however, that a lot of people who find this site will not be in the midst of a true no-hope-in-sight crisis, so this may not apply to you right now.  But people are hurting... many times much more than we know.

It also occurred to me that every one of us experiences some form of crisis at some point or another, with varying degrees of extremity.  These are exactly the moments we are most in need of soul freedom, love and encouragement.  And so I write this with this in mind.

As a society and even as people, we are only as strong as our weakest link.  And at different moments, that could be any one of us.  And so as we are able, we need to attempt to restore balance and meet the greatest need first for the good of all.

Therefore it is to my brother or sister who is in that hurt and frustrated unstable moment, that I write this page, for we are all acquainted with pain and suffering, but suffering with feelings of complete uncertainty, instability and hopelessness can be sheer hell.

And for the rest, since all truths are parallel, you will still find truth and principles here that you can apply to your life on all levels, here and now, to further catapult you into your expression of your highest ideal.  I hope you enjoy.

Gotta start somewhere – Finding solid ground would be good.

The crisis moments can either make us or break us.  These are critical turning points in our lives, and must be attended to wisely, if we are to hope to have a platform from which to strive for the better and higher things in life.  But these are also the moments that help us discover the true gem within.

We’ve got to start somewhere, and that somewhere is with our feet placed firmly on the ground.  But when we’re sinking in quicksand, we first need someone to show us how to get our feet back on solid ground before we can even hope to walk again.  Then from this more settled position, we can gather new information, hone our skills and focus on the business of rising up and demonstrating true victory, harmony and prosperity in our lives.  So we need a solid starting point.

This is what I attempt to help you find here.

If you’re in that tight spot, hang in there.  Keep reading.  Try to stay positive.  Gather up your strength for that which is right.  It’s in you.  Choose the good.  If we lose in these moments, the latter state is oftentimes worse than the first.  So we don’t want to go there!  (And the good news, as I hope you’ll begin to see, is that we don’t have to.)

YOU are the Determining Factor in your life.

A wise mentor of mine always says that “Destiny is not left up to chance, but it is a matter of choice.”  You and you alone can truly determine the outcome of your life.  I know that sounds strange because right now you feel like a victim.

It’s hard to see it now, especially if you've been victimized, but what if the truth of the matter was really that you are nobody’s victim unless you (albeit unconsciously) give your own power away?  What if the truth is that you have dominion over the domain of your mind, your beliefs, your thoughts, and by extension, your feelings, actions - even events in your life and how people treat you?

That would mean that you could determine and decree how the flow of energy in your life is going to go.  Hmmm.  That would require some mental/spiritual discipline, but it would make you pretty powerful in your own life, wouldn’t it?  And without harming others, to boot.  Something to think about.  I told you things would get better.  Still not convinced?  Keep reading.

Our outcomes in life are a function of how we interpret and respond to situations, and the attitude and beliefs that we bring to our circumstances.  When we get on a positive roll, it reinforces our ability to believe, expect, think, feel, act out and attract more good things and experiences.

But it also works in reverse.  And this is where we get stuck, and can often use some help.  Those times when it seems like there’s nothing but bad compounding upon bad.  And this may be the state of mind where you are right now.

And that’s all it is – a state of mind, producing the feelings you have right now.  But doesn’t knowing this, give you hope that things could be different for you?  That maybe if you could find a way to lift yourself up out of that state of mind, your outlook on life would be brighter, and then things would start appearing brighter in your physical world of experience?

Life is full of choices.  Billions of little turning points, where we can choose one thing over another.  One belief over another.  One path over another.  One thought over another.  One action over another.

“…I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live.”

Deuteronomy 30:19 (NKJV)

So right here and now, you have a choice as to what you are going to do.  If you don’t give yourself and others a chance, then you’ve already decided your destiny, and it cannot be changed unless you change your mind (provided it’s not too late)… because you and only you can have the final word, as you are the Determining Factor of your life.  (You see?  Even in the midst of crisis, we can learn that we are more powerful than we may think.)

“I feel like I’m losing it.  I can’t control myself.  I’m afraid of what I’ll do.”

I realize you must be feeling some very powerful raw emotions right now, and that must be very painful, but the truth of the matter is that you have a will, so you really can control yourself... if you want to.  It’s just that your emotions are out of control right now because of the thoughts you have been thinking.  Those thoughts produced feelings.  Those thoughts arose from your interpretation of life events based on beliefs that you feel deep within, many of which are deep-seated, even unconscious from your past.

Please find some hope in being willing to believe that as bad as things feel right now, there are answers for reversing this, and even rising above it.  But it’s going to take a decision from you.  And for that, in your own best interests, you will have to control yourself.  No one else can do it for you.  God put the mind in your head.  No one else can help you if you cannot control yourself.

In fact the very fact that you are reading this page, tells me that something in you wants to control yourself, and can.  Because you are here reading this, and not out doing the unthinkable.  And even if though doesn’t feel like it right now, you do have the power to keep it that way.

“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”

1 Corinthians 10:13 (NKJV)

There is an answer.  And if you want to control yourself, you really can.  Of course, you may not be at prime functioning capacity – you may not be able to do a thing for a little while but cry, sit and stare, but you can keep yourself from doing harm.  If you humble yourself and surrender, God will give you that grace.

What you do or send out only comes back to you – it’s the Law.  And you deserve to win, so do your absolute best to make it something Good.

It’s just that at this crisis moment, all that suppressed negative energy doesn’t know where to go.  The real issue is probably more not whether you physically CAN control yourself, but more so whether it’s really worth the effort for you to do so.

You may feel angry at or resentful of others, and feel that by hurting them or yourself you are giving them what they deserve, or you get to feel powerful and finally in control.  After all, if you couldn’t get control or significance or respect or love or whatever it is that you needed by more pleasant means, you might as well just take it by force, and show them who’s really boss, or by try to cause others to feel responsible and guilty, right?  Wrong.

When you seek to hurt others, you are hurting yourself first, and doing damage to your own soul.  And when you turn the anger inwards and hurt yourself, you are only compounding the problem, and often end up regretting it later.

“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”

Galatians 6: 7-9 (NKJV)

The seeming “easy way out” whether it’s hurting yourself or others, doesn’t turn out to be so easy in the end.  And there is always a price, because Life maintains a balance.  Although it’s painful and can be quite challenging, it is going to be much better to take responsibility for your situation, and pay the price of willingly digging deep within yourself, and summoning the best you can find inside, in order to secure your personal wellbeing, than to create more havoc in your world, and have a dearer price forced upon you by greater forces.

Yes, I know it hurts.  You may even feel a little crazy, and I truly can empathize with you, but you will benefit most if you dig deep, cry, scream, beat the bed to vent, yet do no harm.  For the harm that you do can only come back to you.  In some form or another, it will have to, even if it’s in the form of your own guilt, shame or further angst, chaos and disharmony.  That is spiritual law.  Looking for the answer by expressing negativity outside of yourself only creates more negativity within you, and brings rejection or consequences from those outside of you.

Instead call on your God believing that he loves you, He understands your pain, even your dark unspeakable places, but that He is still with you and is there for you should you humble yourself and receive his love.

I know you may not feel Him there, but He's right there deep inside of you, waiting for you to get tired of fighting, tired of running, tired of complaining, tired of trying to work it out through your ego and mental reasoning.  Waiting for you to turn within, receive forgiveness, love, healing, inspiration, direction.

So call on Him.  And then still yourself within, seek composure in stillness, and master the art of self-control.

And once you’ve chosen to control yourself, it would probably be really beneficial to seek out some caring assistance in some form of therapy to start sorting out your beliefs, clearing stuck energy patterns, and reframing situations that would otherwise trigger emotional instability.  It’s always good to acknowledge our core needs.  And sometimes, we really could use a hand up.

They might be a good place to start.

The books in the Recommended tab of this site will also be VERY insightful, and should open up doors of wonder, beauty, hope and power within you.  Also, if you haven't already, I would also encourage you to start reading my blog,  I Wanna Get Free: Heal Your Life.

Self-control is the Only Real Power.

Reclaim your power.  Start claiming self-control.  I’ve found it helpful to decree and declare that I am in control of my beliefs, thoughts and actions.  That is what real power is in life.

“Easier said than done,” you say.  Perhaps, but it starts with a mindset, and going within to heal your beliefs and thoughts.  When we control your own spirit, and fill our souls with only good things, and when know how to yield and bend with the wind or storm and be transformed, rather than fight it and be broken, all the while still keeping our mind and beliefs on the certainty of reaching our highest good, then our entire life is guided along constructive paths.

“He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.”

Proverbs 16:32 (NKJV)

In fact, if you can find faith now in your time of crisis, and if you can control yourself at a time when you feel like you’re at the end of your rope, then you will have proven to yourself how truly powerful and in control of yourself you can be.  And this will give you confidence in later moments that you are a survivor and that you will always survive.

Just because you don’t see an answer or a better way, it doesn’t mean there aren’t any.

We live in an intelligently ordered universe.  That is self-evident, or it seems the universe would have self-destructed by now.  So, if God is omniscient (all-knowing and all science or knowledge), omnipotent (all-powerful and all potential) and omnipresent (all-present and present in all), then that ever-present knowledge and all-powerful potential exists right where you are.

“So then how come I can’t see it?”  Well everything has a vibration.  When you’re in tune with a high vibration, then the things vibrating at that higher frequency come naturally to you.  But when we’re in crisis, our energy is all confused.  When you’re vibrating at a lower frequency, the things vibrating at a higher frequency can’t get to you, nor can you see them clearly.

That’s what happens when we feel things are really, really bad.  We’re living in the Hell of our experience.  It’s a whole different realm than the one where things are harmonious and flow smoothly.  But that being the case, however, at least we know there is an answer somewhere.

That’s why sometimes someone else can see potential solutions to our challenges when to our own vision at the time, all may be black.  And sometimes it takes allowing someone who is vibrating at a higher frequency than the one we’re currently in, but who can relate to where we currently are, to inspire us, encourage us, help us see things in a new light, thereby helping us lift ourselves up.

Be encouraged, be open to seeing things in a better light, and in time, this too shall pass.

In the midst of your crisis, you are in Prime Position for Transformation.

Every crisis is an opportunity for transformation.  Many times, when situations come to a head in life, and the pressure cooker is about to explode, as much as we hate it at the time, it might be just what our soul needed in order to come to a place where we realize that something we’re doing is just not working – a place of knowing that we can’t do it properly in our own ego strength – the place of surrender to the grace of a higher power, or a higher way of being – the place of humility and willingness to get to the root of our problems instead of being mad at everything around us.

“‘Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts.”  - Zechariah 4:6 (NKJV)

In the last subsection above, we talked about vibrations. Can I add that when there is chaos in our vibration, maybe it’s because the old pattern wasn’t working, so life had to scramble it up for us?  Wouldn’t that mean that in your chaos and confusion, you are halfway to your recovery?  (Provided, of course, you don’t move backwards and fight against it.)  Because until you are willing to let go of your ways (or that which is not working), God can’t get a better pattern to you.  But now that the old pattern has been all scrambled up (and I know that is very uncomfortable), and you are seeking for an anchor, you are in prime position for an awesome transformation of some part of your life … if you are willing, that is.

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”

Romans 8:28 (NKJV)

The nature of Life is to produce.  Life is Life.  It cannot be or know death.  Even as humans, when we die, only our bodies return to the ground (and even vegetation/life can grow from that), but our spirit never truly dies.  It returns to God and continues to live.

Therefore since Life is only knows how to be productive, while others in life may seem to be against us, Life Itself is for us.  So it helps to view the drama others seem to create for us in a different light.  Learn something from it.  Know that underneath the drama and trauma, Life is trying to mold you.  The more you move in harmony with it, seeking and believing the good, the easier it becomes.

"The curse causeless shall not come."

It's so hard to make sense of this at times, but situations arise for a reason.  There is always an underlying cause.  When you make the situation your friend, and become open to discovering what you can learn from it, or what flaw, weakness or error this “accursed” situation has come to point out to you, and to help you learn, correct or overcome, then you are working with Life, and you will come through this trial better for the wear and tear.  Now instead of being anyone’s victim, you are becoming conscious, and you are in the driver’s seat and learning to master yourself.

But when we assume that people and life are against us, and we continue to fight the process, we never learn, and eventually it will overpower us.  Don’t let it break you.  Move with it, and let it transform you instead.  Even when people truly do act against you, when you view the situation in a different light, and work with the situation internally, you can set the sails, and let it take you where you need to go.

“But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day…”

Genesis 50:20 (NKJV)

We have the power choose to get the best out of our rough situations, and not condemn ourselves to compounding the negative by blaming others or further engaging negativity.

"But does that mean that those who did evil against me will just get away with it?"  Well, first, it helps to be aware that sometimes we take offense when there was none intended, and that is a function of our own unresolved issues.  It is what we see and perceive through the tinted sunglasses of our own clouded perception.

On the other hand, if you were the target of evil deeds, God knows what is in the hearts and minds of others.  As we mentioned earlier, the Law of Life is precise, and although we may not always understand it, the Law will balance everything out.  If you try to do it, you will only throw your own energy off.  By avenging yourself, you circumvent the karma that would have boomeranged back to your enemy, create your own bad karma which will come back to you, and make the situation worse than if you left it alone.  As they say, "Karma's a *****."

"Repay no one evil for evil.  Have regard for good things in the sight of all men.  If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.

Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, 'Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,' says the Lord.

Therefore if your enemy hungers, feed him; If he thirsts, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head."

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."

- Romans 12:17-21 (NKJV)

You, however, would best be served by concentrating on your own process, and cleansing your own conscious and subconscious mind of anything that would attract negativity.

Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

– Romans 12:2 (KJV)

There’s a song that goes, “Free your mind, and the rest will follow…”

Now is a good time to decide to start renewing your mind.  On this site, in the Freedom and Transformation sections, and on the blog site I will be erecting, we will discuss this more.  But in the meantime, know that everything begins in mind.

To change anything you’ve been creating, you have to first change your mind.  “Well, Duh. Hello, uh yeahhh!”  But as elementary as that statement sounds, all truths are parallel, so it works on many levels.  Let’s put it this way.  To change anything (or any situation) you’re creating (unconsciously though it may be), you have to first change your mind.

Since you are made in the image of God, you are the made of the very same creative spirit that God is since “he breathed his Life into man”.  God’s thoughts and words do not return to him void, but accomplish the things whereto he sends them.  In like manner, your thoughts and words harden into actions and facts in and around you.  Your whole belief system presses its energy out into manifestation in your world.

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue.  And those who love it shall eat its fruit.”

Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV)

Therefore most people are unconsciously creating things they don’t want in their lives, through their own conscious and unconscious beliefs and thoughts going forth and hardening into the facts of their personal experience of life.

Yes, I know that’s a mouthful, and if you haven’t heard it before, it could sound like a bit much.  There’s time for that later.  For now, just remember, “garbage in, garbage out”.  Therefore, focus on everything positive that you find inspiring good and encouraging.  And seek as much understanding as you can to help you clarify your life.

“Get wisdom!  Get understanding!  Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth.  Do not forsake her [Wisdom]*, and she will preserve you; love her and she will keep you.  Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom.  And in all your getting, get understanding.”

Proverbs 4:5-7 (NKJV)

“And you shall know the truth and the truth [that you know]* shall make you free.”

– John 8:32 (NKJV)

For starters, I would highly recommend the book, The Writings of Florence Scovel Shinn.  It is a collection of four of the author’s books from the 1920’s and 1930’s, but the principles are timeless, and it’s easy reading.  The four books included in it are: The Game of Life and How to Play It, Your Word is Your Wand, The Power of the Spoken Word, and The Secret Door to Success.

You have also got to get your hands on the book, "This Thing Called You" by Ernest Holmes.  You will see yourself, your potential and your world in a whole new brighter light.  It's an older book as well, but I've found the oldies to really be solid.  They really are the "goodies".

“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble [honest]*, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy – meditate [think]* on these things.”

Philippians 4:8 (NKJV)

This will only make you better.  The sun will rise again.  It always does.

“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”

Romans 8:18 (NKJV)

There is a saying that goes something like, “That which doesn’t kill me, only makes me stronger.”  And it sounds so cliché when you’re really going through stuff.  It’s like, “Yeah, yeah, I’ve heard that before.”  But it’s true.  Just be sure to make it through.  Don’t short-circuit your own transformational experience.  Flow with the experience.  Go through it.  Don’t fight against it.  Go through it, and come out like pure gold on the other side.

“For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning.”

Psalms 30:5 (NKJV)

Fortunately, the sun comes up every day.  Some nights it feels cold, dreary and very dark without the sun, but if we stick around, the sun always rises again.  And we can appreciate the sun so much more after a cold spell in the dark of night.

Hang tight.  You are not alone.  And if you believe in God, and can believe that he loves you in spite of your misdeeds, will forgive you for them, and is willing to lead you if you are willing to be open and follow, you can choose to rest in his love and in that knowledge.  I’ve found that that helps tremendously.

Keep your head up, and hang in there.  Things will get better.

... and CALL somebody if you have to!

Warm regards,
